From January to February 2016, many customers gave feedback that the efficiency of our company's conventional standard small-diameter single-pipe drill bit (φ36.5mm, φ46.5mm, φ59.5mm) was low in the process of use, and we asked the company to improve it. Company leaders attach great importance to it and quickly organize relevant production and technical personnel to develop and design related products. On March 1, 2016, the company established a design and development group led by our technician.
First of all, through further understanding of the specific use of customers, we know that our company small diameter diamond drill bit in the engineering investigation industry is widely used, with good wear resistance, product quality stability and other characteristics. However, since most of the equipment for engineering investigation and construction is 30-100m small drilling RIGS, which are small in weight and volume and easy to transport, install and disassemble, the pressure and speed of the drilling rig are small and cannot reach the designed value of the drill bit, so the drilling efficiency will be much lower than that of other large and medium-sized equipment. Need our company to design a relatively high efficiency of the product.
After a comprehensive understanding of the relevant situation, our company in charge of production technology manager led the technical staff and Guilin Jinyang Geological Engineering Machinery Co., LTD launched a deep cooperation. Guilin JINYANG IS A PROFESSIONAL MANUFACTURER specializing in the production of portable small drilling RIGS. The portable drilling RIGS produced by the company are sold all over the country and have a wide range of customers. If the new products OF our company achieve good results on the equipment of Guilin Jinyang, they can fully meet the requirements of the above customers and achieve the purpose of improving the drilling efficiency of the products. The design and development team made a preliminary plan, the product size design from the original standard size to the non-standard thin wall size, respectively from φ36.5/21.5 to φ36.5/25, φ46.5/29 to φ46.5/33, φ59.5/41.5 to φ59.5/46. Five samples of each product, 15 samples in total, were made and tested on the portable drilling rig of Guilin Jinyang Company. The results showed that the drilling efficiency of the product was improved, but the effect was not obvious, and it could not meet the requirement of 20-30% efficiency improvement proposed by the customer.
Through the joint consultation of the relevant technical personnel of the two enterprises, it was decided to start with the product development and design changes from two aspects: 1. The number of water holes of the drill bit was increased by 1-2 on the basis of the original design, so as to further reduce the contact area between the drill bit and the rock during drilling, and correspondingly reduce the drilling resistance to improve the drilling efficiency; 2. Second, the use of new production technology to reduce the density of loose, the use of new formula powder, appropriate reduction of sintering temperature and pressure, so that the product has a better edge. A total of 45 pieces of 15 small diameter thin-wall drill bits of φ36.5mm, φ46.5mm and φ59.5mm were produced again. Each piece was tested separately and the results of its use were recorded in detail. Finally, the most efficient product was determined by the end of May 2016. According to the production process of the product, the drilling efficiency of the produced small diameter thin wall bit is increased by 25% ~ 30% on the original basis, which has been widely recognized and praised by customers, and the development and design of the product has been successfully completed.
